What you get from a UK address lookup on Truely

Every public record connected to an address in England is queryable by postcode. We aggregate the 25+ official datasets so you get one editorial report instead of having to query gov.uk, Ofsted, police.uk, Ordnance Survey, DEFRA, Ofcom and the Environment Agency separately.

  • Sale price history — every transaction at the postcode since 1995, from HM Land Registry.
  • Council tax band — the exact band and current annual rate, from the VOA + MHCLG.
  • Schools nearby — every state school with its latest Ofsted rating, ordered by walking distance.
  • Crime, 12-month rolling — every incident within 500m, categorised, from police.uk.

  • Listed buildings & heritage — from Historic England.

Can I find who lives at an address?

No. The names of current residents are not public record in the UK — that information is held by the electoral roll (only the open version is public, and most people opt out) and by credit reference agencies under licence. Truely doesn't sell or claim to sell that data, and you should be cautious of any free site that says it does. What you can find on Truely is everything publicly disclosed about the address itself: who has owned it (if you check Land Registry directly, ~£3 per title) and the public record of the property and its area.

Is the UK address lookup free?

Yes. The 19 core report sections — sale prices, council tax, schools, crime, flood, broadband, mobile, air quality, demographics, representation, parks, listed buildings and the rest — are free for everyone with a free account. We have a Pro tier (£15/month) that adds 12 specialist data layers (planning applications, HMO licensing, EV charging, CQC ratings, climate normals and more) and PDF export, but the address lookup itself is permanently free.

How accurate is the data?

Every figure on Truely is linked back to its official source under the UK Open Government Licence v3.0. We don't model, estimate, or invent values where the underlying record is missing — we show "no data" honestly. Each section header carries a freshness chip with the data's update cadence and the publication date. Read our methodology.
